The owner or the user must fill with clean water up to the intlet connexion and also after each drainage. When using the device, open the lid every week in order to verify if the right amount of fat substances are floating on the surface. In this case, it is important to drain your interceptor. Do not wait until the greasy water leaks out of the exit. To verify this, look in the chimney in order to avoid blocking the sewage system as well as protecting our environment.

Once you have established the number of weeks it takes for the grease interceptor to fill, the person responsible will be able to determine the frequency of the drainage. If needed, asking advice from the sanitary company responsible for the maintenance of the grease interceptor is recommended. If you have to empty your interceptor several times a month, it’s possible that your device is too small for your kitchen activities. Choosing a bigger model would be more economical.

Once the maintenance of the device is done, verify if all pieces are back into place. Check if the gasket needs to be replaced and make sure that the bolts are well tightened to the cover in order to avoid bad odours.

You could add to your grease interceptor a biotechnological treatment, bacteria either liquid or a bloc. Submerged in the water, the bloc will dissolved slowly with it’s powerful bacteriological action and will help eliminate fats and bad odours thus at the same time will reduce the frequency of servicing. A safe and eco-friendly product, non-corrosive, free of acid and alkali.

Specifications & Operation for grease interceptor with sensor (suffix DG)

Our electronic system includes a certified wall-mounted unit with control of the pre-determined retention oils (not high level). This electrical wall-mounted unit requires a power supply of 115 volts, which is connected by a wire tech on the inside of the interceptor to a waterproof junction box, to which are attached three electrodes, powered by a low voltage supply (2 volts).

After having installed the interceptor in the ground, fill it with water until it reaches the inlet connection and afterwards plug the power cord to an electrical inlet connection with a power supply of 115 volts (15 AMP). Once the three electrodes come in contact with water, the system is functional.

Once the retained greases have thickened and made their way to the boted in the grease, the red light turns on in order to notify the user that the interceptor must be empmptied using the drainage pipe (suffix CS) to suction the substance out or by taking off the cover. While undergoing this operation, you must make sure that no water runs down the drainage system. After emptying the interceptor add water into the interceptor from the drainage system. Once the water reaches the electrodes, the system will be functional again.

To avoid potentially blocking your sewage system with solids or sediments having entered inadvertently into the interceptor, we recommend you verify the inside of the interceptor on occasion if necessary, fully empty it and clean it thoroughly as well, even when the light is not on.
